Liberty House Wedding in Jersey City, New Jersey

We love our Liberty House Wedding couples! They know how to party and entertain their guests with the spectacular views of New York City! These two were a blast to work with and photograph! As an NYC wedding photographer, it’s always fun to get a couple who truly lives in the moment and has the best style. Instead of worrying about the stormy day, they spent every minute simply enjoying each other’s company and being with the ones they love most. Because of their fun and relaxed outlook, their photos looked phenomenal – so candid and full of life! I could not be happier for this sweet couple, and I wish them the very best in their adventures together.

Their wedding venue was the perfect reflection of their personality. The chose the Liberty House wedding venue in New Jersey. This is one of my favorite wedding venues outside of NYC – featuring a very special couple – so I couldn’t wait to share it with you on the blog.

Liberty House Restaurant Wedding Venue

Did you know the best views of NYC are actually from New Jersey? The Liberty House Restaurant and Event Venue was built along a prime section of the Hudson River in New Jersey. Guests can enjoy the skyline and escape the concrete jungle at the same time. The venue is part of Liberty State Park, so it’s surrounded by green space and hiking trails, making it a great spot for first looks and bridal portraits.

On the outside, the Liberty House features a lush, expansive lawn (a rare find so close to the city). The iconic Manhattan skyline fills the backdrop just beyond the Hudson River. In addition, the contrasting verdant garden and bold cityscape provide a diverse collection of wedding photos. Couples can take both intimate garden photos and striking city images all in one place.

From the patio, enjoy cocktail hour inside the outdoor cabanas, complete with firepits and comfortable lounge furniture. Moreover, they offer several full patio bars and dining areas as well. Guests can mix and mingle watching the peaceful river roll by.

The Liberty House itself boasts gorgeous architecture that combines steel and wood for an industrial-chic look. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround both levels of the venue, letting in lots of natural light. Inside, glistening chandeliers hang from the rafters. For example, you may enjoy a formal dinner curated by one of the best chef’s in New Jersey. Meanwhile, his brilliant team incorporates food grown from their sister property’s on-site farm and hydroponic garden – and I can attest that their garden-grown vegetables and herbs make all the difference!

The Liberty House Wedding Venue Spaces

Depending on your guest count and design, you have several flexible options to choose from:

The Liberty Room – Accommodates between 75-150 guests with views of the Statue of Liberty. This is an intimate space with access to the al fresco patio and gardens.

The Grand Ballroom – An elegant space that accommodates up to 325 guests. The spacious ballroom features 35-foot ceilings and panoramic views from their floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Patio, Garden, & Lawn Area – For lovely outdoor weddings, the lawn offers lots of space to spread out. The firepits and patio arrangements make it feel extra cozy and intimate with full views of the river and skyline. In addition, they have a huge, life-size chessboard on the lawn, plus binocular stations for birdwatching and checking out the city. The private cabanas, high-top stone tables, and 2nd story terrace make this outdoor space extraordinary.

Tented Pavilion – For even more customization or an in-between alfresco and indoor option, the tented pavilion is perfect. It features beautiful French doors that open up to the gardens and patio. Inside, white rafters, paved flooring, crown molding, and A/C and heating make it feel like an exclusive event space.
