Greenpoint Loft Wedding

Greenpoint Loft Wedding

What I love most about wedding photography is that each couple has their own style and personality. I enjoy capturing that for them – the essence of who they are together. Usually, the venue a couple chooses is an expressive reflection of who they are. That being said, finding the perfect venue is one of the biggest steps in wedding planning.

The venue sets the overall tone of the wedding. For instance, the high-end hotel makes the wedding feel luxurious and grand. A rooftop terrace feels intimate, light, and airy. Sometimes, couples are not looking for just a space to host their wedding – they’re looking for a venue with a story. And that’s exactly the case with Greenpoint Loft by BK Events in Brooklyn, NYC.

With a prime spot overlooking the East River, this quiet loft sits five stories up with expansive views of the New York City Skyline. Clear views of the Empire State Building in Manhattan from the rooftop make this venue extra romantic. It provides some incredible photo opportunities.

The History of Greenpoint Loft

The charming rustic warehouse served as pre-WWII rope factory, which was transformed into a multi-purpose venue in 2013. The venue displays a cohesive and polished industrial look. You can almost feel the history as you step inside. Although renovated, they preserved as much of the original look and architecture as possible. Even the original elevator shafts were transformed into restrooms! This venue is quite unique, and I enjoy shooting here every time I get the chance.

In addition, natural wooden cross beams, beautiful original wood floors, and exposed brick make it feel warm and inviting. Large sections of windows on both levels of the loft let in soft, natural light – perfect for creating authentic wedding images.

This venue has an alfresco space as well. Enjoy cocktail hour out on the 800 square-foot decks. The peaceful river and city views add to the lovely ambiance.

Planning Your Greenpoint Loft Wedding

Imagine floral chandeliers, hanging greenery, and sparkling string lights overhead. This venue is so much more than a warehouse – it’s a welcoming blank canvas to design as you wish. As long as no damage is done (i.e. no drilling or nailing), the venue is open for you to decorate the space however you like. The crossed beams make it easy to overlay large arrangements up to 100 pounds.

While there is no parking directly outside the venue, there’s a convenient and accessible parking garage just around the corner. I love the centrality of this venue. To add to the unique experience, the bride and groom (and their guests) can stay at one of these phenomenal nearby hotels:
